Try-It-Out Thursday Challenge C

It's Thursday!!!  That means I have another Try-It-Out challenge for you!

Today's challenge is all about Centrifugal Force.  What is that?
Centrifugal Force is the apparent force that is felt by an object moving in a curved path that acts outwardly away from the center of rotation.  Want to see for yourself?

Below is the experiment I want you to try.  All you need is a coin and a clothes hanger.  We used a penny, but any coin is fine!  Hangers made of plastic or a wire hanger with a cardboard bottom will probably work best.

Want to see Sadie give it a try?  Click HERE to see.  Girls and boys, don't give up!  It may be challenging, but scientists don't give up, and they aren't afraid to make mistakes!!!

I'd love to see you experimenting with this challenge!  You can email me a picture or a short video of your attempts at spinning the hanger/coin at shannon.bryant@fpdmacon.org.

Go Vikings!  Love. Mrs. Bryant
